Tiger Woods Takes An Indefinite Leave From Professional Golf. Is The PGA Tour In Serious Trouble ?Tiger Woods declared on Friday that he was taking an indefinite leave from the world of professional golf to focus on saving his marriage. For the world's #1 golf player in the world his actions will have a tremendous effect on all his sponsors and the PGA tour. Can golf effectively draw the ratings necessary to draw sponsors and advertisements without Tiger Woods ? I think the PGA tour is very , very nervous right now. Tiger woods is not the PGA tour but the PGA tour is not much without a Tiger in contention. There is very little doubt that Tiger Woods will one day return to professional golf. The man has had his squeaky clean image destroyed and shattered. His marriage is in shambles and he is doing the right thing by trying to salvage what is still left. Golf is just a game, a sport and for some just a recreational past time. Marriage, children and family is reality. Tiger can sink a 50 foot putt or drive a ball 500 yards but his own ego has self destructed his own family. At the end of the day, no number of green jackets, trophies or oversized checks can fix what he has done. His actions and his legacy will forever be captured in time. The Internet has a strange way of remembering everything. His children will google his name one day and see not just the amazing feats he has accomplished on the green but also his accomplishments between the sheets. No amount of money or PR can delete what he has done but corporate America will look the other way. Nike has already declared their support and their anticipation for his "return to golf". Let's all just let Tiger be .. human ( as he once referred to himself). A man that has erred and a man that will live his entire life in shame at what he has done. We are all human and we all make mistakes. Even in golf, we get mulligans. The PGA tour and it's ratings can wait.
